Biaxial stimulation of a cells in a monolayer or 3D matrix

The MCB1 uses a complex deformable interface to generate radial motion patterns on a 24-pin mounting ring.  User-supplied 35mm diameter membranes, scaffolds, and tissues can be puncture-mounted to this ring and biaxially stretched according to the specified protocol.  The entire assembly can be sterilized and is suitable for long-term cell culture in a laboratory incubator.

The MCFX uses a single-use flexible silicone well plate to culture cells in much the same environment as a traditional polystyrene well plate. After allowing the cells to develop adhesion to the well bottom, the MCFX can execute a user-specified stretch protocol to the well plate, causing the cells to deform. The well bottoms have similar optical properties to a glass coverslip, permitting high-magnification imaging of the cultured cells. The well plates can be sterilized and the system is suitable for long-term cell culture in a laboratory incubator.

The MCT6 uses a powerful actuator and screw-driven clamp grips to apply user-specified stretch protocols. The systems support specimens up to 10mm wide and 80mm long. The system can also be adapted to wider sheet-like specimens and fiber specimens. The entire assembly can be sterilized and is suitable for long-term cell culture in a laboratory incubator.
